Refurbishing+
Breathing new life into a product is the most effective way to be environmentally conscious. That's why we advocate against throwing our products away when they need a repair.
The easiest method involves replacing the damaged component, but you also have the choice of exploring alternative, eco-conscious solutions such as refurbishing it on your own, engaging a local carpenter, or entrusting us with the repair.
DIY refreshing & renovation
Refreshing
When you notice that the oil on the surface of your furniture is gradually wearing off, it's a sign that it's time for a refreshing. The good news is that refreshing your furniture with oil is a task you can easily do yourself. Not only will you be able to restore your furniture's former shine, but you will also discover that oiling is a process that can be enjoyable and satisfying. Let's get started!
Attention
- We recommend using the same oil as in the original version. You can buy it here. Using a different oil may result in a different final effect as this may cause mismatching colors.
- The oiling process is best done outdoors. If you do it indoors, make sure the room is well-ventilated.
- Always use gloves while oiling and consider using additional PPE.
- Use any cotton fabric as a rag (however, make sure it doesn't leave any lint).
- To avoid the risk of fire soak the oil-soaked rags in water for a few hours, then spread them flat to dry. Otherwise, there may be a risk of spontaneous combustion.
- Start by disassembling the furniture into individual parts that you want to refresh. Use 400-grit sandpaper to sand the surface of the furniture evenly. Remember to always sand along the wood grain. This process will help remove the old finish and prepare the surface.
- Thoroughly clean the furniture surface from any dust created during sanding. Use a dry clean cloth to wipe off the remnants of the sanded material gently.
- Proceed to apply a thin layer of oil to the furniture surface. Pour a small amount of oil directly onto the surface and evenly spread it over the entire surface using a cloth.
- Wait 12 hours to allow the oil to absorb well into the wood and provide the desired protection and finish, then reassemble the furniture. You can find all the instructions on our website.
- Enjoy your refreshed furniture! Now you can admire its new appearance and long-lasting protection.

- To avoid the risk of fire soak the oil-soaked rags in water for a few hours, then spread them flat to dry. Otherwise, there may be a risk of spontaneous combustion.
- Start by disassembling the furniture into parts you want to renew.
- Begin sanding the furniture surface. Use sandpapers with grits starting at 150 and progressively use finer such 220, and 400, respectively, making even strokes along the wood grain. Sand carefully removes the old finish and prepares the surface for further action.
- After sanding, remove the resulting dust from the furniture using a dry clean cloth. Make sure the surface is clean and free from any impurities.
- Now, apply a thin layer of oil to the furniture surface. Pour a small amount of oil directly onto the surface and evenly spread it over the entire surface using a cloth.
- Leave the components to dry completely for 12 hours.
- Use 400-grit sandpaper to gently sand the furniture surface, making strokes along the wood grain. This step will help achieve a smooth and uniform texture.
- Once again, remove any dust from the furniture using a cloth to provide a clean base for the next layer of oil.
- Now, apply a second layer of oil to the furniture surface, following the same process as in step 4. Evenly spread the oil using a cloth to provide additional protection and finish.
- After applying the second layer of oil, let the furniture dry for 12 hours, and then reassemble it. You can find all the instructions on our website.
- Enjoy your renewed furniture! Now you can admire its new appearance and long-lasting protection.
